Workshop Transformations: Let's Get Personal - Raphael Cushnir

Workshop Transformations: Let’s Get Personal

Here’s a brief window into what actually happens in our 5-day workshop. We begin with the practices and principles of emotional connection. Then we make a big turn, and everyone begins to consider the one big change they can make during our time together, and exactly how to do that.

Forest Shelter

Here are some examples. One woman at a retreat was addicted to being nice. WIth our fully accepting, non-judging, non-advice-giving support, she shared some hard truths about herself that allowed her to be seen, for the first time, in her true fullness. It was liberating.

One man was always contained, controlled, and wanted to release his resistance to wild presence. So together we chose the song, “Crazy,” by Gnarls Barkely. He got in the center of our supportive circle, and then let it rip. He danced all the through his self-consciousness to a place of movement chaos that had previously been unavailable to him. By the end, this participant had a brand new and thrilling sense of spontaneity.

A young woman was full of love to give, but couldn’t receive it. So we made her a nest of pillows and blankets in the center of our circle. She lay down, with her special team members by her side. One by one, we each came up to her and shared an appreciation. Some where whispered words, some were safe, soft touches. Her job was to stay connected to that person until she actually let the love in. By the time she finished, we were all crying together, and her biggest block had transformed into pure radiance.

Are you starting to get the idea? Each participant works hard with the group, and me, to carefully calibrate a huge step forward in freedom. Not too little, not too much. We use our developing skills of emotional connection to make sure these changes are fully embodied and not just concepts.

Everyone leaves feeling like a family, like the family of radical acceptance they always longed for, and knowing precisely how to solidfy their gains when returning back to their home life.

This is what we’ll be doing at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, September 22-27. Would you like to join us? Do you know someone who is ready for a loving but intensive environment that produces real transformation?
